Agder Energi, one of Norway’s leading producers of clean, renewable hydroelectric power goes live with PowerDesk, Brady’s latest SaaS solution for short-term power trading.
LONDON – May 2022: Brady Technologies (‘Brady’), a leading provider of energy and commodities trading, risk and logistics management software, today announces that Agder Energi has gone live with the SaaS version of its PowerDesk solution following trialling a proof of concept. Brady PowerDesk is designed to help Europe’s electricity traders to accelerate revenue generation from intraday and day-ahead trading. PowerDesk offers ground-breaking decision-support showing portfolio flexibility at different price intervals, real-time net open position monitoring and reserve market bidding.
Brady and Agder Energi have a trusting and long-standing relationship of 20+ years. The company currently uses Brady’s physical power trading platform ‘EDM’, to manage the trading activities of its generation assets, and communicate with Transmission System Operators to schedule power efficiently across the Nordics.
Anders Gaudestad, EVP for Energy Management & Trading in Agder Energi says, “The implementation of the new Nordic Balancing Model, and in particular the demands of bidding in 15 minute intervals, prompted us to revaluate our trading IT landscape. We sought a solution to support our traders with automation and visualisation tools, in order to streamline our bidding process for our flexible hydro assets in the balancing markets. We were impressed with Brady’s vision for PowerDesk, which complements our use of the ‘EDM’ platform so well. We are delighted to reach this milestone and look forward to our ongoing collaboration.”
‘EDM’, Brady’s market leading physical power trading operations platform offers strong capabilities in times series data management, metering, back-office settlement and invoicing. EDM has long been a long-established and trusted trading platform across the Nordics. PowerDesk offers direct connectivity to the exchanges, as well as quick trade functions for consolidating trade screens and reducing the number of clicks required, enabling faster trade executions. PowerDesk is in effect a ‘trader cockpit’. PowerDesk and EDM from Brady, in combination provides an unrivalled solution for accelerating short-term power trading profits in the Nordics.
Bernard Delahaye, CEO of Brady Technologies says, “At Brady, we have made it a priority to help our Nordic customers adapt to the region’s electricity market changes. We are delighted to be working with Agder Energi, who have been instrumental in ensuring that PowerDesk offers the user experience sought for today’s short-term power trading desks.
