BKW migrates its European power scheduling operations to Brady Cloud Services

London, January 2020: Brady, a leading software provider to European energy trading markets, announces that BKW Energie AG (BKW) is migrating its pan European power scheduling operations to Brady Cloud Services. BKW selected Brady Cloud Services to achieve greater efficiencies and enter new markets faster, supporting its future growth objectives.

BKW is a Bern-based international energy and infrastructure company, one of the largest regional power utilities with ownership of largely hydroelectric and renewable energy generation assets. BKW has been a customer of Brady’s for over 10 years. The company uses Brady’s pan European scheduling solution to deliver traded power across Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Austria and the UK in real-time.

Brady’s power scheduling solution helps BKW to meet regional TSO communication protocol and deadlines in a timely and compliant manner. BKW use functions to prepare and send schedules efficiently to meet gate closure times, avoiding penalties. BKW can react quickly to rectify problems in the power delivery process with automatic notification from TSOs using a wide range of status alerts. They have a consolidated view of volumes being scheduled in real-time across different markets for more informed decision-making.

Scheduling is a part of Brady’s overall physical power trading software package, which addresses comprehensive needs of energy trading participants to take advantage of commercial opportunities with greater efficiency in Europe’s short-term markets.
