Under the Paris agreement, the EU has committed to carbon neutrality by the second half of the 21st century. Its current target is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 40% by 2030, the objective for this being to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius and protect our planet.
As an environmentally responsible organisation, Brady recognises the importance of supporting this initiative and is actively working towards becoming 100% carbon neutral.
This challenging target will be met with the support of independent consultants. Current investigation is underway considering core initiatives such as increasing energy efficiency, reducing carbon usage relating to business travel and reviewing clean energy consumption.
To compliment the Carbon Neutral project Brady will also be rolling out an Environmental Policy. This will define the company’s stance on environmental and sustainability issues and will detail Brady’s strategy, pledges, targets and the review process. It will also define responsibility and accountability for adherence.
Established bike to work schemes are already in place across the company with the additional offering of safety equipment and other provisions to assist employees in adopting a greener approach to commuting.
Brady will communicate its carbon neutral status as this project progresses. We remain committed to achieving our targets and helping to minimise the effects of global warming.
